Courses

At Curtin, our undergraduate and postgraduate courses provide students with knowledge and skills for a wide range of careers in the spatial sciences - from surveying to geographic information science (GIScience) to cartography and mapping to mine and engineering surveying. We also offer research degrees for postgraduate students wishing to undertake fundamental and applied research in any aspect of the spatial sciences.
- Undergraduate Degrees are the standard entry point for many careers and our courses cater for direct school leavers and for mature applicants who might not have completed high school but have other qualifications and experience. We also offer double degree awards in surveying and commerce and geographic information science with commerce, applied geology or geography. More information
- Honours Degrees represent the highest level of achievement possible at undergraduate level. An Honours degree, whilst providing a stronger qualification to take into industry than a Bachelors degree, also offers a student the opportunity to learn the methods of pure and applied research, study a specialised topic within the degree program, and the possibility of taking up a postgraduate research degree on completion. - Postgraduate Coursework Degrees are for spatial science graduates who want specialist skills in surveying, geographic information science and cartography and for graduates in other disciplines considering a move into the spatial sciences. More information
- Postgraduate Research Degrees provide an opportunity for students to undertake a significant investigation in the theory or application of geodesy, surveying and mapping, or geographic information systems. The research project is designed to explore problems of continuing or emerging significance and often will relate strongly to relevant problems of industry and government. More information
